About Derilexus

Derilexus is a dynamic musical project that today blends the aggressive riffery of hard rock and metal with the driving beats of EDM, creating a unique and captivating sound. Songs layer low-end baritone vocals and aggressive lead guitar atop looped riffs and droning electronic drums, a metaphor for the struggle for survival of the human spirit amid the rise of artificial intelligence. Originating as an instrumental progressive metal venture founded by guitarist Eric Randazzo in 2016, Derilexus made its debut with the concept EP “Shifting Sands,” which chronicled a man’s struggle against the elements and his own mind. In 2019, Derilexus returned with the single “Wandering Eye (Instrumental),” a groove-heavy single built entirely from layered loops, marking a significant stylistic shift. Beginning in late 2024, Derilexus re-released “Shifting Sands” as a visual album created using Kaiber AI.

Derilexus offers fans an intimate look into the creative process through “Derilexus Raw Sessions” on YouTube, where viewers can witness the behind-the-scenes making of the new album. With an innovative approach to composition, unconventional genre crossover, and thought-provoking lyrical themes, Derilexus seeks to challenge listeners to reconsider the relationship between humanity and technology.
